Inaugural event brought together 24 Airlines and MROs from across Asia Pacific and the world for two days of meetings and workshops focusing on minimizing the financial impact of Aircraft-on-Ground (AOG) situations for aircraft operators and MROs.
MNX Global Logistics recently hosted the inaugural AOG Conference Asia Pacific from May 9-10, 2018 in Singapore. AOG Conference is an event dedicated to AOG personnel from airline and airline affiliated MROs. Its mission is to promote networking and collaboration between various airline and MRO AOG teams, facilitating better communication and maintenance support between airlines during AOG situations, and aiding in the loans and borrow process of critical aircraft parts.
“Aircraft groundings are extremely costly for aircraft operators, both in terms of lost revenue and customer goodwill,” said Paul J. Martins, MNX CEO. “AOG Conference is designed specifically to ease the burden of AOG situations by bringing together equipment manufacturers, suppliers, logistics providers and airlines to share ideas and to collaborate on best practices to reduce the impact of AOG”.
“As the premium provider of global critical logistics, MNX understands the needs of the aviation industry and is pleased to host this conference. This event augments the success we have had with AOG Conference Americas, which we have hosted for the past 7 years in the United States.” added Tom Belmont, MNX COO and President of Asia Pacific who was on hand to welcome the conference participants.
AOG Conference Asia Pacific 2018’s host airline was Singapore Airlines. The event attracted nine sponsors and exhibitors, including AOG support teams from aircraft manufacturers Airbus and Boeing and aircraft part suppliers AJW, Unical Aviation, Global Airtech, Magellan, GA Telesis and GE Capital Aviation Services. The two-day agenda included a tour of SIA Engineering Company’s hangar facilities; and speakers and panelists from Singapore Airlines, Association of Aerospace Industries (Singapore), Boeing, Airbus, Lufthansa Technik and AJW.
MNX and the AOG Conference Series are committed to helping the aviation and aerospace industry reduce the impact of AOG. AOG Conference Americas is an annual event, with more than 20 year history, focusing on issues unique to Airlines and AOG situations in North and South America. The next AOG Conference Americas is scheduled for February 20-21, 2019 in Las Vegas.
